Don José Ferrer founded Finca Ferrer in 2003, in honour of his family name. The winery is located at 1310 meters above sea level, at the foot of the picturesque Andes Mountains, in the heart of the prestigious region of Gualtallary, in the province of Mendoza. Don José Ferrer acquired 300 hectares and began to design Finca Ferrer with his son, Pedro. They planted varietals such as Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Syrah, Chardonnay, Torrontés and Tempranillo. Ferrer chose this specific region of Gualtallary to build his winery because it was the best possible place, according to him, to make great wines. The sandy, rocky and inorganic soils and limestone foundation make this a great site to grow vines. Today, Finca Ferrer has five permanent employees and temporary staff to help out throughout the year.
